Tesla Software Update 2024.8 Matrix LED

The Tesla Update 2024.8 is just around the corner. It is now slowly being rolled out to all Tesla drivers. Your Tesla will also soon receive the Tesla software update . With the Tesla Update 2024.8, Tesla is slowly rolling out the Matrix LED function for the Pre Facelift Model 3 and the Tesla Model Y.

This update makes some changes to the icons at the top left of the screen while driving.

The indicator symbols are now simple arrows instead of being in green circles. This makes it easier to distinguish between the left and right indicators at a glance and is more typical of what you see in other vehicles.

Hold Mode: Hold Mode (if enabled) prevents your vehicle from moving after it has come to a stop.

Previously, when the vehicle was in stop mode, the stop icon would appear where the vehicle's speed would normally be displayed. With this update, Tesla now displays the stop icon next to the other indicator lights and continues to display the speedometer in its normal location.

There is a new WiFi menu that makes it easier to connect your Tesla to a WiFi network. The new menu can be found under Controls > WiFi.
The updated menu will then replace the old dialog that appeared when you tapped the WiFi icon at the top of the menu under "Controls."
The status icons at the top of the screen are still there so you can quickly see whether the vehicle is connected to the Wi-Fi and how strong the signal is.

Similar to Wi-Fi, the Bluetooth menu is now located under Controls > Bluetooth and no longer as an overlay on the screen.
To make room for the additional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options in the left column, you can now move the column vertically.

The changes come just two updates after Tesla was asked to make changes to the turn signals in the vehicle so that they meet the minimum font size required by the US government. The turn signal symbols in particular are a small but necessary change that Tesla could use to prevent potential problems in the future. However, instead of only releasing this change for the US market, we in Europe also received the new turn signal symbols with this update.
