For this, there is a "de-icing" field in the Tesla app. With this function, the Tesla heats the windshield, the rear window, the windows and the exterior mirrors, thereby removing the snow, ice and frost.

This also heats up the Tesla's battery as needed. All of this means that Tesla owners no longer have to scratch before driving and can sort everything out in advance using the Tesla app.

You might think that the door handles of all Tesla models have a tendency to freeze. However, this fear is largely unfounded in German temperatures. It takes extremely low temperatures for this to happen. The "defrost vehicle" function also heats up the door handles slightly.

If the handles are full of ice and snow before driving your Tesla due to extremely low outside temperatures and heavy rainfall, we recommend wiping the door handles with cold or at most lukewarm water in a plastic bag. This should solve the problem very quickly.

The answer is that the symbol simply means that the battery is not at the optimum temperature. This limits recuperation and performance during charging and reduces the range.
