Tesla Software Update 2024.8.4 Trailer solution for the entire fleet?

Tesla is now improving Supercharging for drivers with trailers in the US. Tesla has now recognised the difficulties vehicle owners have in charging vehicles with trailers and is gradually introducing drive-through charging stations at Superchargers. These charging stations are designed to accommodate vehicles with trailers without the trailer having to be removed before charging or further blocking charging stations - this is a significant improvement over the conventional Tesla charging stations that can be seen all over Europe.

Wes Morrill , a Cybertruck engineer who has been increasingly vocal on X, wrote that the Supercharger team is always looking for ways to install these in new locations. We will display trailer-friendly boxes in the in-vehicle interface to make it easier when traveling with a trailer."

Once this feature is implemented across the entire Tesla fleet , one could expect Tesla to try to install mostly drive-through boxes. The Tesla in the US now also shows how many charging stations are in use, how many cars are on their way to the Supercharger, and whether stations are out of service.
